This is a responsibility that we take incredibly seriously and we’re constantly conducting research and refining our systems and processes to ensure we operate in the most energy-efficient way possible.

Sustainability

Sustainability is at the very core of our business model and our operations revolve around what’s best for the planet. There are clear benefits to opting for appliance repair over replacement. An appliance repair from Pacifica will:

• Help to conserve precious natural resources

However, you don’t just have to take our word for it. We recently collaborated with a leading research institute and commissioned a report to assess our operations and identify emission sources. This report found that:

• Simple repairs: An average simple repair by Pacifica uses 95 times less carbon than a replacement, with 2.41kg of CO₂ emitted during an appliance repair when compared to the 230.6kg of CO₂ emitted during a replacement.
• Complex repairs: For complex repairs, Pacifica emits 15 times less CO₂ than replacements, with 14.0kg emitted compared to 211.1kg.

Our Strategic Commitments

Looking after our planet has never been more important and it’s time for all businesses to step up and implement sustainable business practices. Here at Pacifica, we’ve begun to enact a series of strategic commitments designed to lessen our environmental impact.

Our achievements

• Zero waste to landfill: In 2022, we achieved zero waste to landfill from our warehousing activities, with 100% of our waste being reused, recovered or recycled in adherence with the principles of the waste management hierarchy.
• Become a carbon neutral business: In September 2022, we became the first carbon-neutral company in the appliance repair sector. We have taken a number of steps to achieve this, from shifting to 100% renewable energy at all of our business properties to trialling EVs in our fleet.
• Supporting the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption
• Achieve ESG reporting and disclosure: ESG reporting allows us to provide full transparency and foster trust with all of our customers.

Our goal

• Become a carbon zero business: By 2035, we plan to achieve carbon-zero status. This isn’t just an empty promise; we’ve signed up to a science-based target program which has helped us to formulate a clear roadmap for how we’ll achieve this goal. Throughout the next few years, we’ll continue to invest heavily in EVs and hybrid vehicles, with more than 50% of our fleet expected to be made up of electric and hybrid models by 2030.
