Error Code | Fault Description |
---|---|
E1 | NTC error: This indicates a problem with the sensor that monitors temperature, usually in relation to the wiring. To verify this, check the thermistor – it should read 25˚C and 47,000 ohms; if it doesn’t, this may need to be replaced. |
E2 | Heating error: There is likely a problem with the wiring of the heating system, which is causing the water to be cold. It’s best to call in a professional to take a look. |
E3 | Overheating: Another error code relating to the heating system, but this time this indicates a constant flow of heat. Enlist an expert to examine the control board relay – the main board may need to be replaced. |
E4 | Lack of water: An E4 error code occurs because your washing machine won’t fill up with water. This could be due to a number of reasons, such as a clogged hose, faulty door lock or something more serious, like a failed valve. |
E5 | Drainage issue: This error code is caused by water not draining from your washing machine properly. This could be down to a blocked filter or a kinked pipe, or it could indicate a more complicated issue with the control board. If you’ve cleaned the filter and this doesn’t resolve the problem, it’s time to call in the professionals. |
E6 | Motor error: During a wash cycle, you’ll probably notice some unusual jumping and shaking accompanying this error code. This suggests an issue with the motor that will need to be looked at by an expert. |
E7 | Level sensor error: An E7 code means there is a problem with the level sensor that is preventing your washing machine from filling – you may find it empties any time you try to start a cycle. |
E8 | Machine not filling: This error code can cover a variety of issues that stop water from entering your machine, so it’s best to enlist a professional to narrow down the source of the problem. |
E9/E10 | Door lock fault: Both of these error codes indicate that the door lock is faulty or jammed. Check carefully for any obstructions that might be stopping the door from closing properly. |
E11 | Motor error: This suggests a complex error with the motor that requires a professional fix. |
E17 | Excess foam: Too much foam has been detected – perhaps you’ve accidentally used too much detergent – and you’ll need to start a rinse cycle to get rid of the excess. Try using a gentler detergent in future and be careful not to overload your machine. |
E18 | Unbalanced load: Your washing machine is too full and this is preventing it from spinning properly. You’ll need to stop the cycle, adjust/reduce the load and then restart it again. |
