AEG Fridge Error Codes

23/09/2024 Reading Time: x minutes pacifica

Since their inception in 1887, AEG has grown to become one of Europe’s biggest and most well-respected appliance manufacturers. Known for their innovation and durable products, AEG was recently crowned ‘Kitchen Appliance Brand of the Year’ at the Which? Awards and they offer a range of quality fridges. However, like any appliance, your AEG fridge may experience issues that come with age, repeated wear and long-term usage.

Most AEG fridges will be equipped with a self-diagnosing system that will display an error code on the control panel when it notices a problem that needs attention. Familiarising yourself with these different error codes can help you troubleshoot common issues and understand when it’s necessary to call in professionals.

Here at Pacifica, we’ve compiled some of the most common AEG fridge error codes we come across to help next time you run into a problem.*

* Remember, every fridge is different and these may not apply to every AEG model. Always call in an expert if you’re unsure.

How to reset an AEG fridge

If you’re experiencing an issue with your AEG fridge, sometimes resetting it can help solve minor glitches that might be affecting performance. Unfortunately, there’s no universal method for resetting an AEG fridge and it depends entirely on the model in question, so it’s best to check your usual manual for specific guidance.

However, one thing you could try is unplugging your fridge from the wall. Leave it for around 10 minutes and then replug it and you may find that any temporary glitches have cleared and it’s ready to use again. If this doesn’t work, examine the control panel; sometimes there will be a specific button that initiates a hard reset. If you’re not sure what you’re doing, this is best left in the hands of the professionals, so give the team at Pacifica a call.

If you’ve noticed a problem with your AEG fridge, don’t ignore it; instead, let the team at Pacifica help. We specialise in AEG appliance repairs of all models and will have your fridge back up and running again in no time. Our engineers are based in numerous locations throughout the country – contact us to schedule an appointment.

Common AEG Fridge Error Codes

Error Code Fault Description
E01, E02, E03, E06, E07 Sensor damage: Your fridge should be equipped with various sensors that monitor the conditions inside, such as the temperature, condensation levels and more. These error codes indicate an issue with one of the sensors, but you should consult your user manual for more specific information. Alternatively, it may be best to call in an expert, like the team at Pacifica. We can inspect the sensors inside your fridge, assess the severity of the damage and determine if a replacement needs to be ordered.
E08 Low voltage warning: An E08 error code indicates that the power supply to the fridge has dipped below the required 170V. This could be caused by various factors, such as a power cut, overloading or faulty wiring, but it is not a problem with the appliance and you should call an electrician to take a look.
E10 Fridge is too warm: This error code occurs when a fridge is not cold enough and the temperature is above the recommended range. If you’ve recently had a power cut then this shouldn’t be too much of a concern as the fridge should return to a normal temperature soon. If the error code is still showing after a few hours, set the fridge to a lower temperature and rearrange any food in front of the sensor or air ducts. Should the issue persist, there is likely a problem with the cooling system, such as a blocked vent or a faulty thermostat, so you should call in a professional for help.
E11 Fridge is too cold: This error code indicates that your fridge is too cold and at risk of freezing your food. Firstly, check what temperature your fridge is set to and, if it’s accidentally been set too low or at SuperCool mode, increase it. If you know how to, check the vents and ensure they are clear with no blockages. If this still doesn’t resolve the issue, it’s best to call in an appliance repair specialist for help.
F1, F2 Thermostat error: A thermostat regulates the temperature inside your fridge and controls the cooling system accordingly. As this is such a delicate component, you should never attempt a DIY fix; instead, call in an appliance repair specialist, like the team at Pacifica, to take a look.
F8 Defrosting system error: The defrosting system is designed to prevent excessive ice from building up inside your fridge. An F8 error code signals a problem with this component, such as a sensor malfunction or a blocked drain, that will require professional repair.
